This dramatic necklace is made from semi-precious stones, a hand-cast resin ammonite fossil, some superior quality Czech glass rondelle beads and sterling silver. It is designed to sit around the collarbone to do justice to the unique contents of the piece. It has a sterling silver extender chain, finished with a gemstone bead, and measures from 16 to 18¼ inches (40½ to 46½ cm).

The centrepiece is a pretty resin ammonite impression in a pewter colour. The original ammonite was found by myself when fossil hunting on the Jurassic NE coast near Whitby. This lovely town was my home for around 10 years. Ammonites, belemnites, gryphaea and other fossils are commonly found on this stretch of coastline.

The metallic resin ammonite is teamed up with the following gemstones: agates (black and neutrals), black onyx, haematite, larvikite, netstone and snowflake obsidian. Black and dark stones offer grounding, protection and stability during periods of change. They are calming and provide the strength and courage to sustain and support during times of great stress or personal transformation by absorbing negative energies, helping to balance body, mind and spirit. These gems can dispel fear, lessen envy, reduce grief and neutralise negative tendencies like anxiety. This necklace contains a variety of polished, faceted and matt stones to provide a pleasing mixture of textures. It comes in a gift box with the descriptive enclosure photographed which tells the new owner of this unique jewellery all about its qualities. A complementary polishing cloth is also included.
