Beautifully simple seaglass pendant and charm.
This sterling silver seahorse charm, combined with green seaglass, is perfect for any adventurer, explorer or ocean lover. This gorgeous and substantial nugget of seaglass was found at Seaham, one of the UK’s most popular locations for beachcombers looking for glass. Sunderland, just up the coast from Seaham, was a prosperous centre for glass production and little bits of the history of these old factories wash onto the shore every day.
It’s not easy to capture this gorgeous piece of glass in a photo. It’s very chunky but also concave – perhaps it’s the edge of a very old handmade bottle – and the charm nestles inside this naturally seaworn shape just perfectly.
Deep green seaglass.
This beauty is around 28mm in length (just over 1”) and has been carefully drilled enabling it to be turned into a unique pendant. It has been matched with a pretty 3D double-sided sterling silver seahorse charm and these have been connected with a sterling silver jump ring which has been soldered, ensuring your jewellery is secure. The seaglass and charm are hanging on a pretty 925 sterling silver 18” (46cm) mini belcher chain.
You may notice the seaglass has been gently polished with a little coconut oil which protects it and enhances its appearance. As and when this soaks in and/or rubs off you can either retain the matt finish or rub in a little more oil of some kind.
The necklace comes boxed as shown and a complementary polishing cloth is also included.
