These eye-catching, quirky earrings are made from semi-precious stones, a non-identical pair of hand-cast resin ammonites and sterling silver. They are designed to complement each other but not exactly match. They can be worn as a pair or as statement individual pieces. The drop below the earwire is 2¾ inches (7cm). Resin is beautifully light and this pair of eye-catching earrings weigh just 10.45g between them (average 5.23g each).
The original ammonites were found by myself when fossil hunting at Runswick Bay, just north of Whitby. This lovely town was my home for around 10 years. Ammonites, belemnites, gryphaea and other fossils are commonly found on this stretch of coastline.
The mid blue and bright gold ammonites are matched with rainbow haematite beads. Haematite is known as a “stone for the mind”. It is a stone of protection, burning away worthless desires, allowing one to focus on realistic pursuits. It brings mental organisation and is grounding and calming. It helps with original and logical thinking and mathematics. It decreases negativity and can help balance the body/mind/spirit. Physically it has been used to keep the body cool, to decrease blood disorders, nervous problems and insomnia, as well as align the spine and mend broken bones.
These earrings come in a gift box with the descriptive enclosure photographed which tells the new owner of this unique jewellery all about its qualities. A complementary polishing cloth is also included.
