This eye-catching necklace is made from semi-precious stones, a hand-cast resin ammonite fossil, some superior quality Czech glass rondelle beads and sterling silver. It is designed to sit around the collarbone to do justice to the unique contents of the piece. It has a sterling silver extender chain, finished with a gemstone bead, and measures from 15½ inches to 18 inches (39½ to 46 cm).
The centrepiece is a beautiful resin ammonite in black and deep gold colours. The original was found by myself when fossil hunting on the Jurassic NE coast near Whitby. This lovely town was my home for around 10 years. Ammonites, belemnites, gryphaea and other fossils are commonly found on this stretch of coastline. The metallic ammonite is teamed up with the following gemstones: black onyx, black spinels, bronzite, goldstone, haematite, jet (non UK), obsidian and tourmaline. Black and other dark coloured stones are perfect for grounding and protection against negativity of all kinds. They are most beneficial at times of stress or transformation.
