This pretty necklace is made from semi-precious stones, a hand-cast resin ammonite fossil, some superior quality Czech glass rondelle beads and sterling silver. It is designed to sit around the collarbone to do justice to the unique contents of the piece. It has a sterling silver extender chain, finished with a gemstone bead, and measures from 16 inches to 19 inches (40½ to 48 cm).
The centrepiece is a beautiful resin ammonite in a dusky pink and silver colour. The original was found by myself when fossil hunting on the Jurassic NE coast just south of Whitby. This lovely town was my home for around 10 years. Ammonites, belemnites, gryphaea and other fossils are commonly found on this stretch of coastline. The pinkish ammonite is complemented by the following gemstones: agates, haematite, labradorite, lepidolite, rhodochrosite and rhodonite.
